Dr. Nussbaum is a duly registered psychologist in the Province of Ontario. She specializes in Clinical Neuropsychology, Clinical Psychology, and Rehabilitation Psychology with adult populations. She is affiliated with the Ontario Psychological Association (OPA) and the Canadian Academy of Psychologists in Disability Assessment (CAPDA).

Assessor Background & Experience
Since entering clinical practice in 2018, Dr. Nussbaum has focused on neuropsychological and psychological assessment and treatment. She worked at Altum Health and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, divisions of the University Health Network, in their Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) specialty clinics. She currently operates a private assessment and treatment practice and completes motor vehicle accident (MVA) medico-legal (tort) and accident-benefits assessments. She aims to balance plaintiff and defense referrals in her MVA work.
In her role as a staff psychologist at Humber River Health’s Outpatient Mental Health and Addictions Program, Dr. Nussbaum assesses and treats a variety of mental health concerns, including providing differential neurocognitive and mental health assessments to patients referred by psychiatrists due to complexity.
Assessor Education
Dr. Nussbaum completed her undergraduate degree at York University in psychology and completed a master’s degree and Ph.D. at the University of Windsor in Adult Clinical Psychology. During her training, Dr. Nussbaum completed a residency at The Ottawa Hospital, focusing on Clinical Neuropsychology, where she worked within the movement disorders clinic, inpatient and outpatient acquired brain injury services, inpatient orthopedic and spinal cord rehabilitation units, geriatric assessment service, and first episode psychosis program.
Dr. Nussbaum’s graduate research included a master’s thesis addressing emotional processes in Emotion Focused Therapy for Complex Trauma (EFTT), and her doctoral dissertation addressed psychiatric and cultural factors effects on validity testing in neuropsychological assessment following MVAs. She continues to collaborate on research projects and scholarly publications related to neuropsychological assessment and is a reviewer of the academic journal Psychology & Neuroscience. She also presents on topics related to neuropsychological assessment and brain injury.

Professional Affiliations
Dr. Nussbaum serves as an Early Career Board Member of the Canadian Academy of Psychologists in Disability Assessment (CAPDA) and holds certifications in Independent Medical Evaluation and Catastrophic Impairment Evaluation through the Canadian Society of Medical Evaluators/Canadian Academy of Psychologists in Disability Assessment.
