Physical Demands Analysis (PDA)
A Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) evaluates the physical, environmental, and cognitive demands that are necessary to perform a given job or occupation. These onsite assessments classify the work being performed and quantify job duties.
The results of a Physical Demands Analysis aim to achieve two goals. First, they help the claimant find suitable work alternatives. Second, they suggest ways to modify the role to suit the claimant’s condition.
Commonly, a PDA is used for benefit coverage claims. But they may also be done to inform adjudicators, health care providers, or the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board about the job demands.
