The unprecedented challenges over the last few years have impacted us all, especially those who work in the healthcare and medical fields. We want to acknowledge and appreciate the commitment and devotion the entire team has shown. Furthermore, we’d like to highlight someone on our team who inspires us to do even better. This year’s Hearts & Minds Award winner on the AssessMed team has shown unwavering devotion and care, creating a lasting impact on the team, clients, and assessors.
The Lifemark Health Group Hearts & Minds Award recognizes team members who exemplify their values each day. The 2022 award recipient is someone who goes above and beyond their duties to provide amazing support and connection for the team. Those who receive this award care deeply about their role and demonstrate a positive attitude that helps to improve the team dynamic and boost morale.

More About Award Winner, Melissa Chowns
Mel has been an essential part of our team for 20 years!! She has worn many hats over the years with the team, working in several operational roles before taking the Referral Consultant Manager position. Melissa constantly goes above and beyond for Team AssessMed. Melissa took on many additional tasks as a result of Covid including scheduling nurses, assisting with recruiting, interviewing and onboarding nurses and Chaperones in order to help make our services accessible throughout the pandemic. She routinely jumps on evening and after hours requests to ensure that our services are delivered without compromise, often scrambling to arrange transportation, last minute chaperone replacement, interpreters etc. Melissa is kind, patient and reliable. She treats everyone with respect and always does her very best for her team, our Assessors and clients. Melissa supports the team dynamic and is a reliable team member who always perseveres through challenges.
