ASSESSMED CARES: CHARITY WORK AND DONATIONS
Posted on July 18th, 2023 by Don Kunkel

AssessMed cares about those who need help. Here’s a look at what charitable endeavours we’ve accomplished as a team in almost a decade:
AssessMed participated in Roktoberfest IV Battle of the Bands in 2022 to support Food4kids, a charitable endeavour focused on combating childhood hunger.
- Our company also took part in the United Way Sopinka Legal Luncheon in 2022, an initiative aimed at raising funds for various community programs and services.
- AssessMed joined in celebrating WICC’s 25th anniversary, the Silver Anniversary Ball, contributing to the organization’s efforts in advancing cancer research and support.
Our company also showed commitment to mental health initiatives by participating in the High Notes Gala, an event dedicated to raising awareness and funds for mental health initiatives.
- AssessMed recently supported UNICEF by contributing a $10,000 donation to aid the diverse services offered by UNICEF.
AssessMed’s parent company, Lifemark Health Group of Companies was proud to partner with Special Olympics Canada for their Winter Games held in Thunder Bay, Ontario in 2020.
- AssessMed Sponsored the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia (TLABC) Conference in Costa Rica in 2019 where trial lawyers, medical professionals, and sponsors, got together for an educational adventure.
Our team participated in the Fill a Purse for a Sister campaign, an annual event created to help homeless women, women in shelters, and social services programs that support women in need.
- We joined the Foster Townsend LLP & TKMac Support Services for their Annual Holy Smokes Family Barbeque, Rib Cook-Off and Concert Fundraiser in support of the Regional Injury Prevention Program.
- In 2018, we contributed to the Toys for Tots Campaign, helping Peel Regional Police collect nearly 40,000 toys.
On behalf of our valued clients, we donated $10,000 to Wounded Warriors Canada in 2017 to support their leading mental health programs that benefit ill and injured Veterans, First Responders, and their families
- To date, we’ve donated more than $12,000 to Sleeping Children Around the World – a Toronto-based charity that provides pillows, mattresses, and other bedding to children in developing countries.
- We’ve donated more than $10,000 in support of World Vision, which creates education and employment opportunities by building communities in emerging areas.
Our annual holiday toy and food drive lets us donate hundreds of toys and pounds of food to an Ontario fire hall.
- Throughout the years our teams participate in several food sorting events and collect donations for the Daily Bread Food Bank, which is the largest provider of food relief in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
- In 2014, we held our first annual Brain Injury Conference in support of the Ontario Brain Injury Association (OBIA) and the Stop Concussions Foundation
We’re proud to say that AssessMed’s commitment to charitable giving continues to grow. This is largely because, as an organization, we’re made up of people who actively invest themselves in important social causes. We look forward to continuing to showcase our team’s commitment to charitable endevours in the near future.
